No mountain (stairs) are to high for "Never Give Up Sid"

Lindsay and Andrew's house has a pretty significant set of stairs going from their main level to their upstairs.

Lindsay, Mia, and Sid were upstairs with the gate locked. All of a sudden Lindsay heard "thump, thump, thump" and Lindsay rushed to the stairs and saw where Sid had fallen down at least 10 steps.

Lindsay rushed down to get Sid and after Sid was picked up all he wanted to do was to be let go so he could try and climb that mountain again without falling.

Lindsay was behind Sid as he proceeded to climb up the stairs again and once he was at the top stairs, Sid turned around and went down two steps and turned around and looked at Lindsay and gave her the look that said: "Mom, I can do this and I'm not afraid".

Wow, I am not making this up and if this does not sound like some family members I know then I don't know what does. Some people I know you can tell them you can't do this and they will turn right arnound and show you that they can. The determination and desire that Sid displayed will be a cornerstone of his life going forward.

I know, this is all Grandpa Dar just bragging on his grandson, which I MAY do occassionaly :), but some of the stuff that my grandson can do is truely amazing!!!

Ball

Sidnee just loves to say the word "ball". After he awoke from a nap yesterday, the first word he said was "ball"!

Sid and his Grandma Mary were actually playing "ball" yesterday with a full-sized basketball. Sid would make little grunt noises as he lifted the basketball and then bounced passed it to Grandma Mary.

Sid already has amazing skills when it comes to his balance, coordination, and his hand eye coordination. I seriously belive that he has some sort of "gift" as it pertains to anything related to a "ball".

But most important, Sid is HAPPY, HEALTHY, and of course the BESTEST second Grandson a Grandpa could ever ask for!

Sid wants to give a shout out to his cousin Adalynn Kay‏ Lieber!!!

Sid Walks for the first time - 08.27.2009!!!

Our grandson took his first steps while at Grandma Mary and Grandpa Dar's house. Of course, his first 4 steps walking were to his favorite Grandma Mary!!!

Lindsay and Andrew were there and we all cheered and Sid kinda looked at us and wondered what all the excitement was about.

Sidnee Farmer walks before he is 10 months old!!! My grandson continues to break world records and takes all of his accomplishments in stride as like they were no big deal.

Sidnee, we are ALL very PROUD of you!!!

Now the fun really starts as Sid is one fast kid and it will be difficult to keep track of him once he starts walking.

Sid The Kid can sure move...

In a few precious minutes, Sidnee Andrew Farmer has set a new world speed record by going from the main floor of Lindsay and Andrew's house all the way to the upstairs and Lindsay's bathroom!!!

Lindsay of course was scared to death, but Sid took it all in stride just like another days work! If it wasn't for Sid's big brother Andrew Lindsay watching over him, things could of been alot worse.

Lindsay and Andrew now know full well what it will be like to chase a child 24x7!

To Sidnee, you may be fast now, but I have a feeling that your Mom and Dad are now in training camp so they can start keeping up with you!

My Grandsons...

"I give all wealth that toil hath piled, The bitter fruit of life's decay, To be once more a little child for one short summer's day".

How many of us who are starting to get up there in age, wish that we could still experience the fun we had as a child on those hot summer days. I am now able to see again thru the eyes of my grandson what joy and sense of wonderment that each and every day brings.

To watch Sidnee as he discovers new things and how he just takes each and every moment in is something to behold. To see Sidnee's legs and arms move like crazy when he sees his Grandma Mary. To see Grandma Mary read to Sidnee brings back memories of Lindsay and Grant when they were kids. To have Sidnee give you a kiss and then your heart just melts...

And speaking of a summer day...August 8, 2007 was the day my first grandson Andrew Lindsay Farmer was born and then passed away 45 minutes later. There is not a day that goes by where baby Andrew Lindsay is not on my mind.

I think of what might have been on those hot summer days for Andrew Lindsay...but I know baby Andrew Lindsay is with his brother and is able to enjoy those hot summer days as he closely watches over him.

May God continue to Bless my grandsons. May baby Andrew Lindsay have a very Happy 2nd Birthday on August 8, 2009....and may we all take the time to enjoy these summer days as if we were a child again.

Some IMPORTANT News!

Tuesday June 30, 2009
Sidneee Andrew Farmer first tooth is starting to come thru! Sidnee is just 1 day shy of being 8 months old.

Thursday July 2, 2009
At 8 months and 1 day, Sidnee Andrew Farmer WALKS!!! I could not believe my eyes as Sidnee was pushing a toy and walking behind, he got so good at it towards the end he was just using one hand to push the toy!!!

Sidnee was all business while his Grandpa Dar was just going crazy with excitement.

It is my understanding that Sid's Grandpa Barry walked at a very early age (even though this is not verifiable) and Lindsay walked at 9 months so it is in Sid's blood to start breaking world records at a very early age!

Again, I am blessed as I have two wonderful grandsons who makes their Grandpa Dar very happy!

Happy fourth of July to all and God Bless America and God Bless our troops.

Sidnee Updates

Grant came home for the Memorial day weekend and wouldn't you know it, the first time Sid sees Grant he reaches out to Grant!!! Man, the was a sight to see as Sid had not seen Grant since February. I was of course jealous as Sid has still not reached out for his Grandpa Dar!

On June 17, 2009 was a day to remember for sure. I was babysitting Sid and he was in such a fun loving mood. He was on the floor and I started to make some noises and all of a sudden Sidnee was making the same noises! We talked and talked and had a wonderful conversation!

Later that evening Lindsay said that Sidnee was still making that noise! Sid and his Grandpa Dar had some serious conversations and of course we promised each other that they would remain a secret!!!

Sidnee is also doing the Army crawl!!! When he sees something we wants, he will do the Army crawl just as fast as he can to get to what he wants!

What a joy it is to be a Grandparent, especially with such wonderful grandsons!!!
